Business Foundations for Many Businesses are made of Sand.

Why are numbers for growing a business so vital?
Don’t get me wrong, I am not only talking about numbers in your financial statements but all numbers associated with the business.
Apart from sales, profit, price, and many other accounting numbers, there are other important numbers which include dates, KPIs, time or anything that can be measured.
Without these accurate measurements, you will struggle to find the problem that is holding the business back from growth and success.
For a business to grow, there needs to be a goal to attain which requires a plan and the number underpin how and when it will be implemented and measured.
There a 7 steps to moving a business into a growth stage. Setting goals, planning how to get there, measuring the steps, implementing the plan, measuring the outcome, analysing the result, replanning with better numbers fine-tuning the implementation.
This process will result in Taking a problem within the business and improving until it no longer affects the business in a negative way.
This is pretty simple so why do most business owners ignore the numbers and continue to make mistakes that eventually lead to them closing their doors?
When I ask business owners if they know the numbers, the answer is directly related to the success of their business. The better they are with the numbers the more successful they are.
What has made people afraid to use numbers? More importantly why as business owners whose success depends wholly on the numbers still ignore them when the chance of failure is so high?
